Argh... i feel like the world is coming to an end. Every morning, I read the ST in office and tears well up in my eyes. Although i am a free thinker, i still wanna thank God for placing Singapore in such a safe location, sheltered from all tidal waves and away from the earthquake zones. I should be the most thankful of all since i cant swim (yeap i'll be the 1st to drown) and i'm damn slow at running (yeap again, i'm just so "un-fit"). And there was i (a few days ago), complaining about working full day on X'mas eve and New Year's eve.

It hurts me the most to know that many of the people affected are poor folks, farming/ fishing for a living. Mind u, I know wad it is like to be poor and having to worry about the basic needs in life. i see corpses in photos, ruined houses and people wailing their hearts out. All of them lost something or someone so precious that its irreplacable. I have always respected Mother Nature, but her violent side made me quiver in fear and leave shocking images in my mind.

it proves to show, we may be the most intelligent beings on earth, we r still at the mercy of Mother Nature.

sorry, been MIA for quite a few days. busy with work everyday. finally got a chance to blog properly today. spent christmas eve by treating dear to watch Stephen Chow's Kung Fu Hustle. i would recommend it with 4 stars, for all those rubbish (that can actually make u laugh). :)

shopped around tampines area and i realise the whole place was given a makeover. for those who haven gone to tm for a long time, its time to head down there and take a look. (precaution: u must be able to tolerate crowded places & dirty toilets...)

argh, feeling really sick. i wonder if u guys can feel it from the way i write. haven been feeling well lately. gastric pain is killing me, cuts and burns here and there. i feel so shagged. and my poor rainbou have suffered the most. when i feel sick/tired, i would give their night walks a miss. but luckily for the last 2 days, dear was around, so they got a chance to pee on the grass (their greatest joy...)

dun EVER advise me to get MC. its almost the end of my attachment. I'm going to break the record by not having any MCs to my name. ahaHAaa... i'm nearing my goal. just 5 more working days to go. dream on doctors, no matter how "tattered & torn" i am, u wun get to see me before 2004 ends. next year perhaps, but not anytime now...

i was in an extremely good mood yesterday, and i mean it. well, the usually detestable morning crowd seems like a meek flock of sheep. bou pooped on my floor and i cleaned up without whacking him. (he must be thinking his poop isn't gold, its PURE stinky poop...) haha... that's the totally opposite of me. if u met me on my birthday yesterday, its ur LUCKY day... a rare phenomenon that happens only once a year.

i spent the whole day at work trying to influence others (suffering from Monday blues and puffy-eyes) with my chirpiness. i think it did help a little, my colleagues came out from the "depressed" mode a teenie bit faster than usual. :P

i left the office at 5.30 Sharp, rushing towards Boon Lay to meet dear and my family for my birthday treat. we had seafood at Long Beach Restaurant and i was hoo-hah-ing over the weird clam-like creature called the Geoduck... Eww, its so damn gross, trust me. ask hweeli abt this geoduck thingy and she'll squirm too.
including yesterday, i'll be eating crabs for 3 days in a row! chilli crab with hweeli, soft shell crab with dear, and chilli crab again!

everyone was really sweet on my b'day, dear bought me a whole cheesecake (YUMMY~!) + a beautiful pop-up card, Mom and sis gave me a set of interchangeable perlini's necklace, Dad picked up the bill for our seafood feast and bro for being the photographer & a great big joke most of the time...

happy belated birthday to myself! I'm finally 19!!

First of all, a great big kiss for my dear... hmm... for making my day so sweet!
dear bought me a bag (really nice) and a pair of Xcessories slippers! Both items are in very nice shades of pink. I've been wanting a good pair of slippers. (yeap pals, finally i can stop chanting about slippers to u guys~) and the bag! Wow~ its so chic! LOVE it!

walked around in orchard area for whole day. got pretty fustrated halfway on the streets cos it was so crowded. had Marche for lunch cum dinner and i met joyce there. she was just a few tables away~ :)

i almost smacked myself for being so forgetful... i forgot to bring my Takashimaya voucher out! *Sob...* in fact, i did see something that caught my fancy. after i asked the salesgirl to get a new piece, den i realised the voucher was nicely laid out on my table at home. ARGH... now i gotta make a 2nd trip to Taka. dAmn....
other than me myself, spoiling the day, everything else was great!! even the weather.

its the end of a stressful week at work, and i'm looking forward to my birthday celebration (in advance) with my dearest Ban tml!!! YIPPEE... i can be the QUEEN for the whole of tmr. *evil laughs* hey, but then again, who doesn't feel and act like a QUEEN on her birthday?

had a great day with hweeli today! spend the whole morning at work in a daze, just felt so sleepy and my eyes hurt. i guess i'm getting the dry-eyes syndrome from being in the air-conditioned office for so long. and its not just air-conditioned, its one BIG ceiling air-con right above me. *shudders*

after work, hweeli came to my house to slack around b4 going to Fisherman's Village at 5+... my late grandma used to say, if u haven't been doing something in a LONG LONG time, it'll rain on the day when u next do it.
this saying has always been on my mind, and i think its really true most of the time; including TODAY.

so hweeli and i were forced to walk through muddy/sandy puddles and get our feets all wrinkled to reach Fisherman's Village. Bou went along with us but not Rain, cos i couldn't handle both of the rascals alone.

Our dinner was sumptuous!!! Chilli crab for 2 + Fried Rice + 2 deep fried mantou (buns). Bou sat in my bag while we dig in and hweeli said he attracted alot of attention. Oh well, i guess the smaller the dog, the more interesting it seems.
hwee, thank you so much for satisfying my cravings for chilli crabs with me! *mUacKs*
finally i can sleep well tonight and wake up late tmr!
[P.S. can't wait to spend the day tmr with Ban! ] ;)

watched Ocean's Twelve yesterday. it's really amazing how lucky u can be on some days. i was just minding my own business (at the reception desk, as usual) on a wednesday morning when my colleague, jason appeared at my desk and asked if i wanted a pair of tickets to the show.
well, it happened that his wife works at MediaCorp (i never could have guessed) and occasionally they'll get freebies like this. So lucky-lucky Emily and me got to be among the first few in Singapore to watch the movie!!!
Oh ya, by the way, do u guys believe that u can get something without paying a cent? No i dun. Its really unlikely of me to entertain such a nonsensical idea but it did happen. You see, Emily & I were happily chatting on bus 195 when it broke down! We were really running out of time since we have not had dinner... so we took a cab. in my whole life of taking the public transport, i never encountered a bus that broke down... so its like SO suay in my opinion...
The show was superb!!!!! i love it although i can't remember much of Ocean's Eleven...
the show ended at 9pm sharp, straight after which, both Emily and I pratically dragged our feet home.
Oh well, looking forward to more freebies from Jason.
I guess i'll be watching the next show with Ban. Feeling bad for not watching the show with him. *oOps*
